abstract

to date, most studies have focused on continuous aerobic training and there is not comprehensive information about the influence of discontinuous aerobic training on cardiovascular risk biomarkers. taking this into consideration, the purpose of the present study is to investigate the influence of an 8-week discontinuous aerobic training program (3×10 min) on cardiovascular risk biomarkers in inactive obese women. 20 inactive obese women with bmi≥30kg/m2 volunteered to take part in this study. they were randomly divided into two equal groups of 10 called the discontinuous aerobic group and control group. the training was programmed for 8 weeks, 3 sessions in each week and three 10-min exercises in each session with a 5-min break between each exercise and 60 to 65 percent of maximum heart rate. the blood sampling elisa method was used to measure the variables required  from the discontinuous and control groups before and after the training program at overnight fast. the data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test in the significance level of (p

The Effect of 8 Week Aerobic Training on Atrogin, Eotaxin and IL-10 Indices in Obese Women

Background: Obesity has been recognized as one of the top 10 health problems by the World Health Organization. The purpose of the present study was to the effect of aerobic training on atrogin, eotaxin and IL-10 indices in obese women. Method: The present applied research was a quasi-experimental study in which 30 obese women aged 30-45 years were selected by available method from South T...

Comparison of Concurrent Aerobic, Resistance and Combination (Aerobic + Resistance) Training on Serum Levels of Leptin, Atherogenic Index of Plasma and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Obese Inactive Student Girls

Background and Objectives: Obesity and overweight in addition to cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, greatly effects reproductive health as well. Although the positive effects of exercise on weight control and minimizing cardiovascular risk factors has been proven, the effects may vary depending on the type and intensity of the exercise. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the ef...

Influence of aerobic exercise training on cardiovascular and endocrine-inflammatory biomarkers in hypertensive postmenopausal women☆

Given that few studies have examined the interaction between endocrine-inflammatory mediators and aerobic exercise training in hypertensive postmenopausal women, the aim of this study was to investigate whether aerobic exercise training (AET) for twenty-four sessions would alter cortisol, leptin and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) levels. To further analyze endothelium function in response to AET, we al...

The Effects of Aerobic Training on Serum Level of Liver Enzymes and Metabolic Syndrome Risk Factors in Young Inactive Women

Abstract        Background and Objectives: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is the most common chronic liver disorder and is also currently considered as the hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome. Regular exercise training may decrease fatty liver disease complications, although its impact is not yet clear. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of six...

Comparison of the effect of 8 weeks of aerobic and resistance training on lipid profile and blood pressure of inactive obese women with hypertension

Background and Objectives: Lack of physical activity is a worrying condition because it leads to major health problems such as obesity, high blood pressure and various metabolic disorders. Exercise is a lifestyle change suggested to reduce atherogenic markers in adults. Increased physical activity and fitness are clearly associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, but the optimal ...

Effect of a 12-week aerobic training program on perceptual and affective responses in obese women

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to observe the effect of self-selected intensity or imposed intensity during aerobic training on perceptual and affective responses in obese women. [Subjects] The study included 26 obese women aged 30-60 years. [Methods] The subjects were randomly divided into two groups, with 13 subjects in each group: self-selected intensity and imposed intensity (10% above...
